Explore the Tian Shan mountains on a remote drone flight from the mineral spring valley at the base of Vladimir Putin Peak.

Ak-Suu, meaning “white water” in Kyrgyz, describes the pristine springs coursing through this broad, high mountain valley. This remote region features immense granite walls and jagged ridges blanketed in perpetual ice and snow. Marvel at the bands of sure-footed ibex navigating the steep slopes, and keep an eye out for the elusive snow leopard. This drone journey offers a unique glimpse into one of Central Asia’s most stunning high-altitude landscapes.

Things to know

The Tian Shan mountains form the geographic heart of the snow leopard’s range across Central Asia. However, sightings of these elusive big cats are incredibly rare, with population densities of only about two individuals per 100 square kilometers.
